This movie features very attractive women having what seems to be very natural, relaxed sex with each other. The only potential downsides for most viewers are no toy use in the film and the actresses do not speak English. Kind of strange to watch porn with subtitles . . . but then you don’t really need the subtitles, and they only occur in parts of the film that a lot of viewers will fast forward through anyway . . .

My only complaint is, I wish they had a scene where Nelly is inexperienced and she and Lisa are having sex for the first time. That would have been sexy. I hope they save that for a sequel or prequel.

This movie is excellent. The chemistry between Nelly and Lisa is amazing. It’s quite passionate, sexual, and hot through and through. The viewer can sense that Lisa and Nelly are very sexually attracted to each other, which makes incredible scenes. This deserves 5 stars, hands down. Plus, I agree that this deserves a trilogy from Viv – another starring both Nelly and Lisa.

I cannot think of a release from VT that has been more hotly awaited. This production does represent an interesting departure: have only three women, two of the women appear in three scenes, while the final scene features one and the other woman. In this context, the term “other woman” is very meaningful. Nelly and Lisa are two women in a very intimate and long-term relationship. There’s something VT has never explored before: two women who are married to each other. Now that is a departure.

We are then treated to three scenes featuring Nelly and Lisa. The first one is the “Wake-up Sex” scene. Nelly literally sucks Lisa dry in this one. It has to be the shortest, but the hottest scene in recent memory. It’s also a scene filled with warm atmosphere that only two people intensely in love can create. It’s also a scene filled with dark foreboding that something this good cannot last.

Lisa has a session with her therapist, played by the stunning Peaches, where she talks about her relationship with Nelly and her fears. Fears? The second scene shows Nelly and Lisa again. This time Lisa dominates Nelly by blindfolding and tying her to the bed. It’s a scene also of some dark foreboding, but it’s also incredibly sexy.

We return to Lisa and her therapist. Lisa continues to speak about the importance of her relationship with Nelly. Then, we see Nelly and Lisa in a cafe. They are talking about everyday things, like paying the bills, housekeeping, and so on. Nelly is very dutiful in doing so many errands for Lisa. She looks at Lisa with such devotion in her eyes that you just know something is going to go wrong.

In the third scene, and the longest, Lisa and Nelly are warm in their bed. Without losing a step, the two women are making love that is amazingly sensual. It is a beautifully shot and intensely erotic scene. Nelly and Lisa have the perfect marriage. Right?

At last, all is revealed in the final scene, with Lisa and Peaches on the couch and fucking with wild abandon. Why is Lisa unfaithful? Is it because her relationship with Nelly is so predictable? Or, maybe Lisa needs to dominate her therapist, whose role already dominates her? So many ways to define this story. It’s a mature VT release with some of the hottest lesbian sex ever. Here’s hoping that VT continues with these amazing releases.

I had yet to jump on the Viv Thomas bandwagon, until now. This film is outstanding. You can feel the passion between Lisa and Nelly, and it leaves you wanting more of them. Although, I hate the plot – the setup made the cheating inevitable. Is it too much to ask to see a committed couple who work at and accomplish staying together without being unfaithful? Hoping this couple stays together for at least two more releases.

Well, those who are not aware of who Viv Thomas is and how his movies stand in a special world of porn cinematography will be shocked watching this movie. They’ll discover that there is not just shitty gonzo porn out there, but also well-made, with plot, atmosphere, picture quality, and beautiful women. For the rest who have already studied in the VT academy, this release will be another reason to delve even deeper into lesbian movies, finding a lot of positive things, as well as some negative ones.

This movie (as with Sisters) is mainly an experimental effort, in order to try a new style in lesbian films, the so-called and described by the title “A day in the life of…” Showing three scenes out of four with exactly the same models, it’s obviously an experiment, and Viv did his best to make this work smoothly, avoiding the possible bored reaction of the viewers. This movie could have been filmed in a very heavy way, with emotions, alternations, drama, but simplicity is what really counts here, as a tool of delivering this new filming proposal to the crowd.

The main couple (Lisa and Nelly) works nicely; they are both top VT models, among the best sexual performers, and with hypocritical aspects in their style. They make passionate love, as a loving couple, and the sex scenes are really deep and tender, not exactly as we’ve witnessed them in other VT movies; this time love is above sex, focused more on oral contact, than any other kinky tip during sex. This lack of rough lesbian sex is filled up in Peaches-Lisa scene, where we can see some very nice analingus caress as well.

Cinematic angles during a couple’s daily life, light music, and nice bits of dialogue are among the plusses of this movie. As an experiment, though, it’s not that easy to be done perfectly, so some not-so-good parts can be noticed, too. The rapid ending of the movie (although promising for a second release) works against all of the previous effort to paint a special, loving relationship.

This creates a feeling that something is still missing for the movie to be completed 100%, a sense which eliminates the serious effort of the whole project. Maybe Viv and his team didn’t have enough time or ideas to add a more inspiring ending to the movie, as exactly happened in Sisters, where you have again a very nice plot, but with a very poor ending in comparison to the rest of the movie.

This is my main objection; other than that, the Peaches-Lisa scene is really hot, even though there is a lack during Peaches’ reaction, before the sex scene starts. She just accepts Lisa’s sex invitation, without a single word, a sign of doubt, especially because of her position as a doctor. I think some of these parts can be corrected in “Unfaithful Again,” although the cast question is still a problem. Is it going to stay the same, around the basic idea of filming a couple’s life, or it will dramatically change?

As a conclusion, I’ll rate this movie with a 7.5 / 10.

Q: Is Unfaithful the best thing Viv has ever done?

A: Yes.

There are at least two ways to go “upmarket” in the porn industry: you can either use a lot more money to make a stupid adolescent movie in the manner of Jerry Bruckheimer – e.g. a movie like Pirates (for which I recently saw a trailer), or you can make a movie like a grown-up, with a bit of intelligence and some understanding of what “grown-up” actually means. In either case, the risk you run is that you will produce incompetent, pretentious rubbish. The extra risk in the second case is that you will be painfully aware of it.

Unfaithful was made by people who had some idea of psychological motivation, and felt that it was worth trying to deal with. They also know what real camerawork is – I’d be willing to bet that whoever was in charge of photography here knows who Vittorio Storaro is, and admires him. And they got the women involved to act (like, for real, as in what real actors do – there is not a smirk to be seen; Lisa in particular is great).

Viv’s only problem is that once you start doing things like this, the critical rules change entirely. Stuff that in a porn flick you would never notice suddenly becomes a problem. Couple of remarks: Next time, try to go a bit easier on the Kliegs – the glare is distracting in one of the scenes. Also, Peaches shouldn’t have played the analyst – she is far too young. Sandy or someone else would have been a much better idea. And the way they fall into each other’s arms is silly.

Congratulations to all involved. If Viv keeps up in this direction, he will be swapping notes with Michael Winterbottom. I hope he makes a lot of money with it.

P.S. – I almost forgot to mention the sex: there are four scenes (3x Lisa and Nellie, 1x Lisa and Peaches). They are four of the best that Viv, or anyone else you can buy here at LLV, has ever produced.

Note to Panos: I thought the ending of the movie was really well done. You could feel the guilt – they didn’t look at each other, and they both clearly wanted to get away from each other as soon as possible (which fits the plot perfectly). Though, see my remark about Peaches falling into Lisa’s arms.

Also (not mentioned in the previous reviews) there is a nice trib scene with Lisa and her therapist, Peaches, taking place on the therapist’s couch. Trib is still quite rare in Viv Thomas movies and I wish there was much more if it. This is the first time I’ve seen Lisa do it. Unfortunately, during the trib motions, the couch started squeaking quite loudly, resulting in major distraction, killing the moment. This is a rare production faux-pas from Viv, and I’m surprised the scene wasn’t re-shot on a less noisy piece of furniture!

Still, it’s a great movie and, thankfully, no toys. I just don’t get the toy fixation with the majority of the lez stuff out there.

Every so often, Viv Thomas makes a movie that transforms the lesbian erotica genre into something truly magnificent; a work of art, in fact. “Unfaithful,” like “Butterfly” and the “Pink Velvet” series, is one of these.

“Unfaithful” is about a woman who has it all – excellent job, loving girlfriend – but somehow it is not enough. What is, she does not know, except that the chase for something desirable is better than constancy in relationships, even if it is love.

Lisa is simply superb in the role of the career woman with the beautiful young girlfriend who loves her dearly. Nelly as the young girlfriend and Peaches as the other woman are also perfect. The lesbian lovemaking in this film reaches a stage rarely ever seen, so natural and expressive is it, and it fits perfectly to the plot.

“Masterpiece” is the word that comes to mind after seeing this.

I wasn’t as impressed with this one as are the other reviewers (see above). Yes, the women are incredibly beautiful, as is usual for Viv Thomas productions, but the rest of this one was pretty basic without all that much to recommend it.

Basically, beautiful older brunette Lisa is talking in Russian to her therapist Peaches about her lovely younger lover, Nelly. We read in subtitles about what she tells the other woman about their love life. Since they’re both already lesbian, there’s nothing particularly erotic or noteworthy regarding the setups.

We see Lisa and Nelly waking up together followed by sex. Later we see them again in bed together, with Lisa this time tying Nelly’s hands to the bedpost and blindfolding her. Normally, I like the whole sub/dom thing, but in his case it doesn’t really go anywhere. Lisa doesn’t particularly ACT dominant. I did like the way she remained clothed while Nelly remained completely nude. But that was about it.

At least when Lisa talks to Nelly it’s in English. Later, we see both women drinking wine then again cuddling in bed together. Their sexual encounters are nothing out of the ordinary, however.

Finally, we discover the “unfaithful” part of this relationship, as Lisa and her therapist begin making out. I did enjoy the part where Lisa kisses Peaches on her lovely derriere, but that was really about it.

Beautiful women in mostly lackluster scenes together; maybe above-average for some companies, but way below average for Viv Thomas. Overall grade: C+

I’ve just received this movie in the mail last weekend. I’ve watched it about 12 times already. Lisa and Nelly are incredible. The kissing alone is very hot and sexy, especially in that second scene. They both had on the very sexy jeans; Lisa was working Ms. Nelly. If this film was shown in a theater, there wouldn’t be any dry panties.

Can I just say, Lisa is one hot and sexy actress, and she is very seasoned when it comes to eating the yummies. ~

I saw the movie, and on a scale of 1 to 5 I give it about a total score of 3.5. The plot was well thought out; no simple five minutes of conversation, then on with the sex. The tone was set right at the beginning with the first scene between Lisa and Peaches, the psychiatrist. The plot was believable and maintained throughout the movie. Score – 5

Kissing and lovemaking were excellent. Scene one, between Lisa and Nelly, was too short . The second scene between Lisa and Nelly started out promisingly in bed with the foreplay in jeans, but Lisa never disrobes in the scene. Particularly when Nelly is tied up and blindfolded, a nude Lisa with maybe some trib action would have definitely made a big difference. The scene started out with promises, but I was rather disappointed. The third scene of Lisa and Nelly in bed helps to make the movie, though in that you can sense the trouble Lisa is feeling. Score – 3

The scenes with Lisa and peaches were all right. I can forgive the noisy couch. Score – 3

All in all, this wasn’t a bad movie, but I wouldn’t rate it a five, though.

Avery nice one, setup and everything. However, there is this problem with all the recent Viv releases which, at least for me, and I guess some others, is annoying. I don’t appreciate all those close-ups of pussy licking and fingering. The position is very sexy, but the way they finger each other and the very close shots of it is not sexy. I do hope Viv can consider giving out the soft versions for those of us who appreciate the sex but not the anatomical details. Viv used to do that before, why not with these new releases as well. The movie is very hot, though.

This is the first sexually explicit lesbian video that, although graphic, isn’t pornographic. It isn’t just about the sex, but also about the relationship between Lisa and Nellie. Not surprisingly, it’s Viv Thomas who has broken this new ground in lesbian erotica.

Watching Lisa and Nellie together leaves you with the sense that these two are in a loving but troubled relationship. This human touch adds a degree of realism to the work that you rarely see. Whether this turns you on or off (yes, that’s possible) is up to the viewer. Some people just want to see hot sex and feel uncomfortable with intimacy. For me, it was a definite turn-on. Well done, Viv.

With this review, I introduce another recommendation tip: “Yes” or “No.”

Yes, if you are a Lisa fan – the woman is like wine. And the more you see her, the more generous her body and screen presence becomes. Yes, if you are new to Viv and the full sex treatment, or a Viv cultist – as a keen observer would put it – and thus are easily amused and imagine most of the cinematic virtues of his features.

I hope I can again set the record straight and help some poor souls make their difficult decisions here. Some good points were made previously. But, watch out, there are many delusional points which are more the product of what we wanted and expected this “film” to be – but failed to be.

Sex-wise, this is as competent as it comes, when you have Lisa, a generous cunnilinguist and kisser, matched by a cunnilinguist-rimmer-artist in Nelly. I tend to agree with the valiant Anon dissent here. There is plenty to like in the sex – good oral, no toys, etc. But why did this hyped “film” leave me wanting and jeering and (the horror!) tempted to fast forward when the blindfold came out? Or when the psychiatrist and Lisa jumped to sex attention?

Simple. The marketing and the good-looking internet clips did not translate well to a cheap-looking, darkly lit video, which continues to be a drag on Viv’s claim to greatness. The sound could have been better. The usual, again, dark, cheap, crampy, and claustrophobic lack-of-space feel that plagues Viv productions persists (for contrast, see his In The Family. Is it a coincidence that it was filmed in the U.S and is thus cheerfully full of light and space?).

The narrative fails, even by voice over and the (why?) ominous music without setup, and, if you want to have a film, you should have explanatory quick-edit scenes and for joy’s sake, have some motion, move the action from the cramped bedroom for talkies at least for once? Stand the girls up, do establishing shots, my goodness, there is still so much to do to convert this into cinema.

Please, again, get rid of the always-present night table lit motel look. Light preserves a feature longer. Here, it seems, day and night the little lamp is on and semi-darkness reigns. This was a drag on Confessions of the Make Up Artist also, though, again, the sex was excellent in that one.

The first scene is fine. Hot and good, lingering after-shots, though, again, the dialogue could have done a better job of establishing the setting. There is no justifying dialogue or visuals leading to the second sex scene. What is the rush? No setup here started to kill Unfaithful as a movie. Again, do these two spend the whole time at home lying down? If they were real people, they would at least talk some, wouldn’t you think? And then the nonsense idea of the blindfold. Makes you think ideas were dry at that point, since they did not know what else to do with the two lovelies?

There is no point to the blindfold, come to think of it, you want to know, what is the trouble in this relationship? Just because Lisa says it. Ah, ah, you need visual proof, transitional and explanatory scenes! Then there is the shrink. Why is she at the shrink? Come on. And why does she just jump at the prospect of sex with her when her proclivities and wantonness (Lisa’s ) were not properly established yet? Of course, the lack of setup and tension and reluctance by the shrink or anyone at any point kill the cinematic qualities we are looking for – in vain.

To summarize, Unfaithful does not break any new ground, and is bad in terms of any narrative; no dialogue equals wall-to-wall sex only. There is no clarity and no show-me-don’t-tell-me only qualities. The main complaint should be that number one in the series (who is not going to watch the next ones, knowing Jo might be around?) is not self-contained (cannot be regarded as a complete feature). Hope the producers watch it and learn from its shortcomings.

All of the above said, as a wall-to-wall sex video, with two lovelies who are generous in their sexing, plus the Lisa factor, there is enough to like , especially for newbies and sex-is-mostly-enough enthusiasts, since, trust me, this is not any breakthrough as a movie and is not an experiment, it is the lost trying to find a desert except for the trademark Viv sex action.

Okay, I know I am risking the wrath of the heavens here, but I am losing my passion for Viv’s films. They are becoming repetitious, and the actresses seem to be the same over and over. Sophie, Nellie, Jo, etc. Don’t get me wrong, the women are beautiful and the sex is very, very good. It’s just that it is the same thing over and over again. I own several, and now feel like I’m seeing re-runs. Can’t we get some twists and turns? How about some sexy domination or a little lustful kink? Get a bit edgy, mix things up, break new ground like he did in the beginning with his incredibly beautiful scenes of lovemaking and passionate sex.

I’d been looking forward to seeing this one because Nelly is at or near the top of my list of g/g performers. I must say I was not disappointed. Overall, a very nice effort, with just a couple of minor shortcomings.

The first thing I noticed is the picture quality. It is much improved over past VT features. Here I am speaking of sharpness and not other things like color, which has always been top notch. Sharpness of the image is the one area where VT was lacking compared to other producers, and this is the first VT feature I have seen where they have caught up.

Unfaithful does not break new ground, in my opinion. It’s another nice addition to VT’s story-oriented features. The plot line is thin (it is porn, after all), but it serves to give a little depth to the scenes, and that helps make them a little hotter.

The three scenes with Nelly and Lisa were all very nicely done. The chemistry between these two comes out strongly. Their relationship was very believable. I enjoyed the blindfold scene more than other reviewers. If you are going to have three scenes with the same performers, a little variety is called for.

I did notice the shooting style seemed a little different than other VT features. Lewis Thomas was not one of the cameramen (unless he also goes by another name), so I wonder if this accounts for the differences I noticed. There were fewer camera angle changes and definitely fewer close-ups than usual (despite what other reviewers have said). Fewer camera angle changes are a good thing, in my opinion, as long as they camera angles are nice. I would have liked to see more close shots (not close-ups) where you can see both performers’ faces on the screen during oral.

On the negative side, why do they switch back and forth from subtitles in the office scenes to speaking English in the rest of the movie? I like the subtitles even during the sex scenes. I think it is very sexy to hear the women speaking in their native tongue instead of hearing, “I want eat your pussy, I like the way how it tastes in the morning” (a very sexy thing to hear, by the way). I would have no problem reading that in proper English and hearing it in Czech(?). It worked really well in Confessions of the Makeup Artist. I suspect a lot of people didn’t like it that way, and that’s why they don’t do it anymore.

More problematic is the lighting of the first and third Lisa and Nelly scenes. At least one other reviewer has mentioned this, and I do think it can be a problem with VT features. I suppose they are trying to create a nighttime feel and mood. But it is porn, and I like to be able to see the action, and the low lighting sometimes obscures it. Girlfriends Films does a nice job of creating the mood while keeping the scene well-lit.

I also agree with other reviewers who say Peaches was probably a little young to play the psychiatrist. But, then again, she looked hot in her glasses and pulled up hair, so who cares? It was another nice scene.

Just in case people weren’t happy with three scenes with the same two women, they threw in a couple of pretty hot bonus scenes: Peaches and Gina B. and Nelly and Nicky (had not seen her before). I liked all of the sex scenes on the DVD. I would recommend this DVD to any Viv Thomas fans. If you like his work, I think you will like this also.

This is the second Viv Thomas film I have purchased. The first was “Butterfly,” (which I reviewed here on Lezlove). This is one amazing film! Casting the older Lisa with the younger Nelly is my kind of casting. Lisa has a mature/regal look to her. She has a beautiful, curvy, 35-ish body that is so incredible to behold! I just love her firm, round, senusal tummy – how I’d love to plant a hundred kisses on it. You’re a lucky girl, Nelly! Nelly is young, 20-ish, hard, firm, tight little body with a doll-face. It’s lesbian fireworks from the opening bell!

SCENE #1: “Yum-Yum Breakfast”

Now, my favorite lesbian director is Herr Ernest Greene. He works in the lesbian/fetish genre of S&M/Bondage. His masterworks from the ’90s include “Restrained by Desire,” “Contract for Service,” “Mask of Innocence,” “Dark Paradise,” “Where the Boys Aren’t #5, #6,” “Secret Dungeon,” and more recently “Jenna Loves Pain.” I move Viv Thomas to the same lesbian podium as Ernest. This film really, really impressed on all levels. Be it casting, scene sets, attire/wardrobe, camera, music… the whole works was in lesbian overdrive!

Viv, here’s a few thoughts and ideas to consider:

1. INTERRACIAL CAST – Add an older Asian/black actress to the mix of young divas.

2. FEMALE BODYBUILDERS – Cast a beautiful female bodybuilder (a la Denise Masino films). Perhaps a story set in a women’s gym with the bodybuilder as the most desired trainer in the gym. Of course, ALL the women lust for her! You could have some interesting lesbian triangle storylines going on there. It would be a GREAT SERIES; call it “Lesbian Gym.” Works for me!

3. LESBIAN TRIANGLE STORYLINE – Is there a hotter theme? “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” storyline. Have a 50/60-ish “plain-Jane” dyke pursuing a beautiful, young, busty diva! Opposites DO attract. Think of Girlfriends Films star Sofey as the diva, and black, bald, and handsome Amazon (paired with Lena Ramone in “Women Seeking Women #20) – that match-up perfectly shows the atomic lesbian casting of “Beauty and the Beast.”

CASTING – Consider these divas: Teanna Kai, Sharon Kane, Devon Michaels, SOFEY, AMAZON, Dayana Cadeau, Yvette Bova, Tanya Danielle, Vanessa Blue in a mix of younger/older/bodybuilders/divas and dykes. Just some food for thought.

I hope volume three in the series is a lesbian triangle storyline. Two women in competition for Lisa! If it was between Nelly and Peaches over Lisa, hands down Peaches would have been the victor! On a scale of 1 to 100, I’d rate this film a 98. I also want to note that the music score was MAGNIFICENT! More, Mr. Thomas, more.
